TENNCARE BENEFIT

TennCare has entered into a partnership with Weight Watchers to promote healthy lifestyles among TennCare enrollees. The ultimate goal of the TennCare/Weight Watchers partnership is to prevent or delay the onset of costly health care conditions by providing enrollees with the knowledge, tools and support to make healthy choices.

Effective January 1, 2006, TennCare enrollees ten (10) years of age or older who have a BMI > 30 or who have a doctor's referral may enroll in a twelve (12) week Weight Watchers program, which consists of weekly meetings that focus on healthy eating, behavioral management and increasing physical activity.
